Birthday: November 26, 1974
Place of Birth: North Vancouver
Race Bike: 2005 Honda CBR 600RR
Street Bike: 2001 Honda VTR1000F
Years riding: I got my class 5 in 2000
Years racing: My first race was in 2007
Why I started road racing: Once I got a taste of riding the track, I wanted, no,
needed to compete. I can be pretty competitive. Track days are just for fun, not to prove anything.
My parents think… (Of me racing): Dad is OK with it, Mom worries, but
they both come out to cheer us on.
First bike: Honda VF500F Interceptor
Favorite food: mmmm beer. The breakfast of champions.
Guilty pleasure: Can’t tell you, it’s my guilty pleasure. No really. I'd get in trouble.
Other sports/interests: Motorcycle touring, Information Technology, reading, SCUBA diving.
Favorite place in the world: the Lake
Least favorite place in the world: Monday, 8:00AM, my desk.
One thing you’d want with you if stranded on a desert island: Assuming water and food are
plentiful, I’d have to go with… Wilson!
GP500, 990cc MotoGP or 800cc MotoGP: 990cc MotoGP, no question. GP500 is close, but four
stroke 990cc prototypes with limited traction control is my hot, hot sex. 800cc, so far is a snooze
fest.
Favorite rider: Valentino Rossi
Favorite motorcycle engine format: V4
Favorite track:That I’ve ridden? Pacific Raceways. That I’d like to ride? Phillip Island.
Favorite piece of track: The back straight at Pacific Raceways
Part of the track I hate the most: The walls.
Funniest track moment: Does Boundary Bay count? I think Jason’s first (attempted)
pass, he took my mirror off with his elbow.
Scariest track moment: Taking another rider out by being an idiot.
Still not proud of that one.
I prefer this track condition: Sunny, dry and warm.
The hardest thing about racing is: Endurance. It’s hard work cranking out lap after
lap going as fast as you can. I need to work on this. I want my last lap to be
my fastest.
Goals this year: As many track days as possible, get faster, keep Jason
behind me.
What’s in my CD player: Metallica, Mathew Good, Scars
on Broadway, Billy Talent, Pink Floyd
If money wasn’t an issue I’d buy this bike: Honda NR750
If money wasn’t an issue I’d buy this tool: A frick’n
huge RV, I’d live on the road going from track to track.
Most memorable race so far: While 2008 was a great year with
many great races, I’d have to say the last October race weekend was something I’ll
always remember. My only crash of the year was my first Intermediate race,
which was red flagged (not because of my crash) allowing me to re-tech, remount
and finshed the re-started race.
About racing (My friends would say I…): Something about crazy and injury. Don’t recall exactly...
Funny story about Jason: He started riding first, I started doing track days and racing first.
Despite my dragging him into this, he still manages to come in first. So far.
Short Bio: Born second, determined to cross the finish line first!
Birthday: November 26, 1974
Place of Birth: North Vancouver
Race Bike: 2006 Honda CBR 600RR
Street bike: 2006 Suzuki SV1000
Years riding: 12 Years
Years racing: I started riding on the track in 2005 at 5th Gears Boundary Bay events and my first
year racing at Mission with the WMRC was 2008.
Why I started road racing: I wanted to really learn push my limits without the dual threats of speeding
tickets or becoming a hood ornament. As well I’m a competitive person and wanted to compete at something I love
to do.
My parents think… (Of me racing): They enjoy it and think it’s pretty special.
First bike: 1981 Kawasaki KZ750
Favorite food: Meat lovers Pizza
Guilty pleasure: I do love a few good cold beers.
Other sports/interests: : I love playing hockey, I’ve been playing in net as a goalie for as long as I can
remember. As well I enjoy snowboarding in the winter and wakeboarding in the summer.
Favorite place in the world: Our old family cabin on Ruby Lake. Best place hands down.
Least favorite place in the world: Hospitals.
One thing you’d want with you if stranded on a desert island: Besides sunscreen? Maybe a MP3 player.
GP500, 990cc MotoGP or 800cc MotoGP: 990cc MotoGP.
Favorite rider: Valentino Rossi
Favorite motorcycle engine format: V4, with gear driven cams.
If you could ride or race at any other track, which would it be? Realistically I’d like to ride any track nearby
I can, be it Edmonton, Spokane, Portland or Miller in Utah and I have plans to try and ride them soon. Unrealistically,
I’d like to try Phillip Island in Australia. I like the layout of the track and the scenery looks amazing.
Favorite track: Pacific Raceways, Mission second of course
Favorite piece of track: Turns 5,6, & 7 at Pacific Raceways, turns 4,5 & 6 Mission.
Part of the track I hate the most: The chicane at Mission. I need to improve there.
Funniest track moment: Probably breaking my brothers mirror off while “passing” him at Boundary Bay.
Scariest track moment: Sliding both wheels through turn 5 at Pacific Raceways.
I prefer this track condition: Dry! But after my win in the torrential rain last year, I think this might change.
The hardest thing about racing is: Waking up early. That and not having enough money to do everything I want to do.
Goals this year: Find some sponsorship, improve my physical conditioning, continue to improve my racing and beat my
Brett both in the points and in fastest lap times. I hope to consistently make the top ten in the intermediate 600 supersport class.
What’s in my CD player: My Chemical Romance, AFI, System of a Down, Queens of the Stone Age.
If money wasn’t an issue I’d buy this bike: Cagiva C594
If money wasn’t an issue I’d buy this tool: Air tools or a motorcycle work bench/lift.
Most memorable race so far: Probably race number 5 in August. I got a crap start and was in the back of the pack at the first turn.
I put my head down, got a good rhythm going and started passing people, with a couple laps to go the next rider I saw ahead of me was Brett
and I worked my way up to him, eventually passing him going into turn 5. The race ended soon after that and I didn’t know where I’d finished.
It turned out I had passed Brett for second place. I was very happy with how I managed to keep my head down, worked hard and passed a lot of
racers to make my way to the front.
About racing (My friends would say I…): I’m smooth, but need to be more aggressive and brake later. They also think I should probably
not get involved in any other film projects as my acting is terrible! I had a small role in Saturnin’s Throttle Trauma2 movie, Street Kings.
I played the stunter dis-liking racer.
Funny story about Brett: Brett got the scar betweens his eyes when he got upset about something and started to kick a wooden subwoofer
box apart, unfortunately there was a spray paint can sitting on top of the box and with the first kick it bounced off a wall and hit him
between the eyes, cutting him for a few stitches.
Short Bio: North Vancouver is where I make my home. I was born in raised there and I’ve worked in North Vancouver for Newalta, at what
used to be the Mohawk Lubricants oil refinery for the last 15 years. I first got my start with motorcycles when my good friend Chris Mcleod
who is a rider, felt that I would really enjoy it. He took if upon himself to help me and actually found me my first motorcycle for dirt cheap.
I took the Action Motorcycle school and started riding on the road. Somehow I managed to survive riding that bike as it was a real piece of junk,
it died a painful death of being backed over by a courier truck at work one day, which was probably for the best. I like to think that perhaps
riding was in my blood as my father rode a motorcycle for a few years before my brother and I came along. His last motorcycle actually resided in
the basement for all of my childhood and I spent a far bit of time messing around with it, IE knocking it over. A few years after I had started
riding my father got the bug again and bought a motorcycle. Brett followed suit and he started riding soon after that; now we all enjoy riding
and every year we go on long motorcycle road trips. Our trips have taken us many places including a trip to South Dakota to see the famous Sturgis
Rally. A highlight of last year was after a few years of watching us on the track we got our father, Brian to come out and enjoy a track day on
the track with us.
We look forward to another great year in 2009!
