2009 Year End Report
August 30 2009
2009 was another great racing season, the first full season of racing for the Bros as intermediates with the Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club. To be expected, it was a more difficult season compared to racing in Novice with closer, more competitive racing. We both worked very hard on our technique striving to lower our times
and be as competitive as possible.
As always, our fellow WMRC competitors are a great group of people and the racing was always fair and thoroughly enjoyable. This year we also managed to try a new track, Portland International Raceway. The trip was well worth the time and effort. Portland is a very fast and flowing track, easy to learn and a joy to ride on with its new, smooth pavement. We plan to head back in 2010. As always in racing there was a few ups and there was also a few downs, specifically the season did not end well with the first race of the last race weekend with both Bros crashing out of the race and Jason out for the remainder of the season due to an injury. Brett, with spare parts salvaged from Jason’s bike and help from his friends managed to make it back into his remaining races. Over the off season we’ll be working on fixing our bikes, healing injuries and working on our health & fitness to insure that 2010 is an even more competitive season. We’d like to extend our thanks to our sponsors: Kimpex, Ipone & Imperial Motorcycles for their help in making 2009 a great season! We’ll be back in 2010 ready for more action!

No Kawasaki in MotoGP for 2009
January 10 2009
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today that it has decided to suspend its factory
MotoGP racing activities from 2009 season.
Amid quickly changing business environment, Kawasaki has been promptly taking
countermeasures to cope with the situation.
As the world economy is not likely to recover
in a short period due to the major impact of the financial crisis, Kawasaki decided to
suspend its MotoGP racing activities from 2009 season onward and reallocate management
resources more efficiently.
Kawasaki will continue racing activities using mass-produced motorcycles as well as
supporting general race-oriented customers.
Kawasaki would like to thank all the fans and all those who have forwarded us great
help.
Mr.Yoshio Kawamura, the Managing Director of Kawasaki Motors Racing B.V. deeply
appreciates the contribution and the dedication brought by staff members of the MotoGP team.
Kawasaki Rumoured Out of MotoGP?
December 30 2008
Reports from Europe have it that Kawasaki may be on the verge of quitting MotoGP-- immediately.
The global economic slowdown seems to be the source of the possible loss of Kawasaki from the MotoGP
championship.
An announcement is expected after the new year. What would happen to Kawasaki's two
contracted riders if Team Green did pull out--American John Hopkins and Italian Marco Melandri--is as
yet unknown. If this news is true, Kawasaki dropping out of MotoGP is going to be seen as a serious
blow to the spend-spend-spend-MotoGP championship.
